Hi, I’m Paula.
I’m not an expert. I’m not a perfect mom. I’m simply a mother learning, growing, grieving, celebrating, and loving my children with everything I have.
When my daughter, Josie, began her autism journey, I quickly realized that motherhood wasn’t going to look the way I imagined. It became a path filled with evaluations, therapy appointments, questions, victories that others might overlook, and a love deeper than I ever knew existed. Along the way, I discovered that some of the hardest moments are often the ones no one talks about—the mental load, the loneliness, the fear, the hope, and the fierce determination to help your child thrive.
This space was created for parents who need somewhere safe to land. A place where you don’t have to explain yourself, where there is no judgment, and where every emotion is welcome. Here, you’ll find honest stories about autism, speech delays, motherhood, family life, and the beautifully messy reality of raising a child who experiences the world differently.
You’ll also find the joy. The first words. The unexpected milestones. The tiny victories that feel like mountains. The moments that remind us our children are never defined by a diagnosis—they are defined by who they are.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, unseen, or wondered if you’re doing enough, I hope this little corner of the internet reminds you that you’re not walking this journey alone.
Welcome to Unscripted Mama—where motherhood isn’t perfect, autism isn’t something to fear, and every story matters.
I’m so glad you’re here.
